Ladoja Vows Not to Delay Olubadan Chieftaincy Appointments

The Ladoja Olubadan appointments policy was made clear this week as the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, pledged that no vacant position in the Ibadan chieftaincy line would be left unfilled for long.

The former Oyo State governor made the declaration while hosting the Asipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, at his Lagos residence. The statement, released through his Media Aide Adeola Oloko, highlighted Ladoja’s commitment to upholding tradition and ensuring continuity in Ibadan’s revered hierarchy.

Smooth Succession Assured in Ibadan Traditional Council

Ladoja used the occasion to pay glowing tribute to the late 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, who recently passed away. He described the monarch as a respected figure who lived an “impactful life” and provided “a good account of himself.”

In his remarks, Ladoja stressed, “There would be no delay in filling every pending vacancy in the Olubadan chieftaincy line.”

The message came as reassurance to the people of Ibadanland, especially as several positions in the chieftaincy ladder remain open following the monarch’s death.

Support from Senior Chiefs Strengthens Ladoja’s Position

Oba Kola-Daisi, who is next in line as Asipa Olubadan, visited to offer his condolences and express support. He pledged loyalty to the Olubadan-designate, affirming his readiness to work collaboratively during the transition.

His presence at the meeting further solidified Ladoja’s anticipated ascension, signaling unity within the traditional council and among Ibadan’s high-ranking chiefs.

The Ladoja Olubadan appointments commitment reinforces expectations of a smooth and timely leadership transition in Ibadanland. As traditional institutions continue to guide the region, Ladoja’s promise signals both respect for cultural order and readiness to lead without delay.
